Amherst Family Chiropractic Center has a warm and welcoming staff. Each individual brings a unique blend of talents and dedication. The staff genuinely cares about patient well-being and is devoted to assisting with complete recovery.

Mitzi Williams, Office Manager and Front Desk Coordinator

Our office manager, Kentucky-born Mitzi Williams has a wide range of skills and interests. Her education is in management and finance, though her professional background is in emergency medical and health science. She worked in the chiropractic field for many years prior to joining AFCC, and remarks at her amazement over the healing power chiropractic. Her favorite thing about working in Amherst Family Chiropractic is the wonderful patients. Mitzi is continually suprised by their kindness and caring AND their authentic desire to heal on all levels. In her much treasured time off, Mitzi is an avid trout fisherman who would rather be in hip waders fly fishing any day!

Josh Read, Exercise Physiologist and Rehab Expert

 Joshua Read has been working with Dr. Katz for 5 years and was recognized as our employee of the year 2008. He is our resident exercise physiologist and radiology technician holding a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and a certificiation as a radiology technician. Josh works closely with Dr. Katz in designing stretching and strengthening exercises for our patients. Josh loves the fantastic attitudes of our patients and their willingness to receive assistance in all forms as part of their recovery and rehabilitation. His favorite thing about working at Amherst Family Chiropractic is seeing the positive changes and the relief experienced by the patients who weren't being helped by the allopathic community. Josh is a true outdoorsman who loves living in the mountains of Central Virginia. He is a Lynchburg native who camps and goes river rafting every opportunity available. If you look carefully, you're likely to see him snowboarding at Wintergreen where he received his AASI Snowboarding Instructor's Certification. The active lifestyle certainly agrees with Josh as he weighs 85 pounds less these days than he did in High School.

Jessica Jones and her puppy, Massage Therapist

Jessica is a true "local." She was born in Charlottesville, VA and currently lives just outside town in Schuyler. Jessica has been working with Dr. Katz for the last two years and brings almost 3 decades of massage training and experience with her. She is certified in Cranio-Sacral, Polarity, Acupressure, Infant Massage and soft tissue release. Jessica made the career switch from Interior Design to bodywork following two serious car accidents. She experienced first hand the difference it makes in the healing process to have someone dedicated to treating the whole person with love and gentleness. Jessica loves working at AFCC and says she appreciates the friendliness and willingness to adapt and change that our patients exhibit. She lives with her four kitties and cute dog, Aurora, overlooking a soapstone quarry.

Dick Wallace, Massage Therapist

Dick Wallace is a Nelson County resident who was born in the great state of Pennsylvania. He is now retired from the Nelson County School system where he served as a school psychologist assisting both students and staff. He carries a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and holds his Master's in Education from UVA. Not completely fufilled in his life of retirement, Dick returned to school at the Virginia School of Massage and Healing Arts to become a certified Massage Therapist. He loves the blend of therapeutic massage and chiropractic practiced at Amherst Family Chiropractic. He looks forward to his time here and the spending those hours with his coworkers and patients. Dick is our comedic relief who says his favorite color is, in fact, clear.
